ACU nursing in Rome: six-week immersion or a two-week ethics unit?
Separate ACU’s Rome nursing immersion from its shorter Health Care Ethics intensive. The workshop’s broader overseas learning themes are not a single Rome course list.

Australian Catholic University (ACU) includes its Rome Campus in the overseas opportunities presented in its official nursing workshop of 15 October 2026. But “study in Rome” is a location, not a complete description of the academic arrangement.
The workshop also lists university core curriculum, Indigenous health and culture, health care ethics and nursing immersion. Those parallel themes should not be combined into one Rome package. A destination and a subject area need an explicit program link before they can be read as a particular study plan. The broader ACU overseas nursing guide explains how destinations, activities and course credit differ.
Two different arrangements
ACU’s health sciences overseas study page, read on 17 October 2026, describes these options without identifying an intake year:
- Nursing immersion: six weeks in Semester 2, studying NRSG265, NRSG266, part of NRSG267, and HLSC220 concurrently. Three units involve theory, combining recordings, in-person and online tutorials, independent study and assessment. NRSG267 includes clinical practice at UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital and local community engagement.
- Health Care Ethics intensive: a separate two-week HLSC220 option for the listed undergraduate courses, including nursing. The December version involves shared learning with Loyola University Chicago students.
The page warns that programs can change. Its description is not confirmation of places or dates for a 2026 or 2027 intake.
Why the distinction matters
A two-week unit and a six-week, multi-unit arrangement answer different planning questions. Do not read the shorter duration as the length of the nursing immersion, or attach the immersion’s hospital component to the ethics-only option. NRSG267 is identified as partial, not a claim that the whole unit is completed in Rome.
The workshop’s reference to core curriculum also does not make HLSC220 interchangeable with a named core unit. Nor does its mention of Indigenous health and culture establish that this subject is included in either Rome arrangement above.
For an individual study plan, the relevant question is which identified option fits the student’s course requirements, rather than which destination sounds appealing. This article provides no individual credit decision, application deadline or selection outcome. An overseas learning experience should not be represented as an Italian nursing registration pathway.
