Packaged Offers That Include the GDML: What Happens to the Rest of Your Study Package
Explains that students with a packaged offer containing the GDML can continue other courses in the package, but the GDML CoE will be cancelled and they should contact their provider for options.'s changed and how to apply under new rules.
If your study package includes the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) (GDML) and you have not started that course by 5 October 2026, the GDML component will be cancelled while the remaining courses in your package can still continue. Your education provider must discuss how the change affects your study plan and can offer an alternative course or a refund of unspent tuition fees if a provider default occurs. You should contact your provider as soon as possible to clarify your options.
What the change means for packaged offers
From 5 October 2026 the Australian Government has suspended and cancelled the CRICOS registration of the GDML. New enrolments and new Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) for the GDML will no longer be issued, and any existing CoE for a student who has not commenced the GDML by that date will be cancelled. If the GDML is part of a packaged offer but you have not started it, you may be able to continue with the other courses in the package. Your provider should explain how the cancellation impacts your overall study plan and discuss possible pathways, such as transferring to another course or receiving a refund of unspent tuition fees.
Your provider’s obligations
If the cancellation results in a provider default, the provider must act within 14 days by either:
- offering you a suitable alternative course that you accept in writing, or
- refunding your unspent tuition fees.
If the provider does not meet these obligations, the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) may be able to assist.
Visa considerations
Changing your course or study plan can affect your Student visa. Before making any changes, check the visa implications on the Department of Home Affairs website or consult a migration agent registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA).
Next steps

- If a provider default occurs and the provider does not fulfil its obligations, refer to the Tuition Protection Service for support.
