ACU Health Sciences Towards Brisbane 2032 Scholarship: eligibility and credit
Understand ACU's Brisbane-only 15% tuition scholarship: the four eligible health degrees, credit and duration rules, continuing conditions and competing awards.

Australian Catholic University's Health Sciences Towards Brisbane 2032 Scholarship offers eligible commencing international students a 15% tuition fee reduction for four specified undergraduate courses at Brisbane. The campus and course restrictions are central to the award: studying health sciences elsewhere at ACU does not meet this scholarship's Brisbane requirement.
The “2032” in the name should not be read as an intake deadline or a promise of work at the Olympic Games. The scholarship's stated benefit is tuition support for eligible study, not admission to an Olympic employment pathway.
Which four degrees are eligible?
ACU's official workshop identifies these Brisbane courses:
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse)
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science
- Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science
These are separate qualifications with their own admission requirements. The enrolled-nurse course, for example, is a specifically named nursing pathway, not another name for the standard Bachelor of Nursing. Inclusion in the scholarship list does not establish that an applicant meets a course's academic, professional-background or English-language requirements.
The list also should not be broadened to every course in the Faculty of Health Sciences. A health-related title, a postgraduate qualification or a different campus is not a substitute for one of the four named Brisbane options.
How long does the 15% reduction apply?
The scholarship value is equivalent to 15% of tuition fees for the minimum registered CRICOS duration of the enrolled course, inclusive of recognition of prior learning or credit. CRICOS is Australia's register of courses for overseas students; recognition of prior learning is commonly shortened to RPL.
Credit matters because the award is tied to the eligible course and its registered duration, rather than an unrestricted number of years chosen by the student. A student with approved credit should keep the credit decision, remaining study plan and scholarship confirmation together when estimating costs. Do not add a separate extra scholarship period on the assumption that credit creates an additional entitlement.
For a budget, distinguish the tuition reduction from the cost of living in Brisbane and other study expenses. The award is not described as a cash allowance covering accommodation, travel or insurance. Its percentage also does not make future tuition charges a fixed, all-inclusive course price.
Automatic assessment still has conditions
Eligible applicants are assessed automatically; the award does not require a separate scholarship application. Study Abroad and Exchange students are excluded.
Recipients must remain in the same course and at the same campus, pay required fees on time and meet student-ambassador obligations. These continuing conditions make a proposed course or campus change relevant to scholarship planning. An award for Brisbane should not be assumed to transfer unchanged with the student.
The dedicated scholarship terms do not state an intake year or an application deadline. It would therefore be misleading to invent a closing date, describe the award as open for every intake until 2032, or attach a deadline from a different ACU grant. The scholarship confirmation needs to match the student's actual offer and commencement arrangements.
What if another ACU award also applies?
The Brisbane 2032 scholarship cannot be combined with the Executive Dean’s International Scholarship, Flourishing Lives or Global Horizons. An applicant eligible for more than one of these awards is offered the higher-value scholarship, rather than receiving the combined percentages.
For example, ACU's separate Executive Dean’s 2027 award has a 10% category for specified nursing bachelor's courses for eligible 2027 entrants. That does not turn the Brisbane award into a 25% nursing reduction. Each award has its own conditions, and the higher-value rule applies only where the applicant is eligible for the competing awards.
The useful comparison is the remaining tuition for the intended course and campus, not the largest sum of advertised scholarship percentages.
Make the course decision first
The four eligible degrees lead into different fields of study. A scholarship can affect affordability, but it does not make nursing, biomedical science and exercise and sports science interchangeable choices.
Before including this award in a firm budget, have a clear record of the course title, Brisbane campus, admission outcome, any approved credit, scholarship entitlement and continuing obligations. Keep uncertain items visible rather than treating automatic assessment as confirmation that funding has already been awarded.
